In the late 1990’s, SBCGlobal was one among the top internet service providers in the country. However, its fortunes started dwindling around 2000 and the company went bust in 2003. Fortunately, for the hundreds of users of SBCGlobal, the economically beleaguered company was acquired by AT&T and their services were put back in the market. Eventually the merging of AT&T with Yahoo meant that SBCGlobal users could now also have their very own email account with the service.
If you are currently using an SBCGlobal email account, you will have access to all the services that Yahoo offers, including emails, chat rooms, instant messenger and more. In fact, with sbcglobal login, you also get additional perks and benefits such as a customizable homepage, large address book, an inbox without space restrictions, spam blocker and access to Flickr, yahoo Groups and more. However, your sbcglobal login will only stay valid till you are using AT&T as your ISP.
Getting an SBCGlobal email account!
Unlike other public email services such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and the like, you cannot randomly register for an SBCGlobal email account. This service is only given to AT&T and specifically SBCGlobal customers. If you have an account with the service, you may have already received your SBCGlobal login details.
Your username will typically be the name with which you are registered with the ISP followed by the sbcglobal.net domain name. You can use your sbcglobal login username and password to access your email account through the Yahoo or the AT&T website.
Using your SBCGlobal login details to access your email messages
As stated above, two websites will allow you to gain entry into the inbox of your sbcglobal.net email account. If you are using AT&T, go to the homepage of the service at http://www.att.net/s/userinfo.dll?ep=1031.
In the field marked for username, type in the first part of your user ID and then choose the domain sbcglobal.net from the dropdown menu next to it. Type in the password to your account and click on the orange button that says “go”.
You can also use your sbcglobal login details through the yahoo.com page. For this, go to the collaborated homepage of AT&T and Yahoo at http://att.yahoo.com/. To your right, you will see the icon of an envelope, click on this to reach the login page. In the form presented, type in your complete sbcglobal.net email username and your password and click on “sign in”.

Recovering your lost sbcglobal login details
If you forget your username, you will need to contact customer support. Remember that your username will simply be the name that you used to sign up with sbcglobal. For instance, if you are Dr. John Stewart, your sbcglobal login username will typically be dr.stewart or j.stewart or john.stewart @ sbcglobal.net. You could try such variations of your name to recover the username. If you are having problems with the password, you can follow the procedure given below.
Step 1: Whether you are signing in through the att.net page at http://www.att.net/s/userinfo.dll?ep=1031 or the yahoo page at http://att.yahoo.com/, you will find the password recovery link next to or below the field used to capture the password for your account. Click on this to go to the password recovery page.
Step 2: You will be asked to provide your username. Make sure that you type in both parts of your username; the one that is before and after @.
Step 3: You will also be asked to provide your member ID. This is not a numeric code but your username again. If you are unsure about this or want to reconfirm, check your phone/internet bill.
Step 4: In the next step, expect to answer account related questions. You will be expected to provide your zip code, the last four digits of the social security number of the service buyer and his/her date of birth. If this information matches the details held in their database against the user id, you will be granted temporary access to your email dashboard.
Step 5: From here, you will be able to reset the password through the normal process of typing and reconfirming it.
