Like with all other banking establishments, there are a plethora of benefits to using the net banking facility from ICICI, not the least of which is the ability to access and use your personal, NRI, and business accounts on the go, from wherever you are and whenever you want. In fact, the net banking service is designed to offer the same facilities as you would get if you were to walk in to the local branch of ICICI bank.
The best part is that you do not have to go through a registration process for using this facility. When you open an account, either saving, checking or NRI, with ICICI bank, you will receive a welcome kit. This will contain a checkbook, your debit card, information on using the account as well as internet banking details, including the ICICI bank login information you will need for web based transactions.
Using your ICICI net banking account
For accessing your web banking dashboard, you will need both your user ID as well as the password. If you have this information, go to the page at http://www.icicibank.com/privilege-banking/login.page? and click on the account type. Your options include personal, corporate, money2India, b2 digital banking and Young Stars.
On the page that you are redirected to, you will be asked to type in the user ID and your password. Finally, click on the tab that reads “login” and you will gain access to your web banking account. It is also possible to access the net banking service through cellular devices. For this, you will need to download the appropriate app for your smart phone. The program is not available on the regular app stores.
To get the app, you will need to sms to 5676766 for GPRS downloads or point your mobile browser to http://mobile.icicibank.com/dl. Once you have downloaded the program, you will need to authenticate it on your phone. If you are an Android device user, you will see four icons when you open the application.
Of these, click on the one that says “activate now”. As you follow through the steps for account authentication, you will also be asked to set a 4 digit pin for future use. For Windows phone, you will be using the ICICI bank login details that you normally do for accessing your net banking dashboard.
How to access your account if you lose your password?
There are two ways in which, you can log back into your ICICI net banking account if you have lost your password. One is to simply visit the branch that you are banking with and ask them to resend this information to you. However, this can be a time consuming process and will typically take 15 days.
However, if you have registered your phone number or email ID with the bank, there is a simple procedure that can be followed to reset the password online.
Step 1: Go to http://www.icicibank.com/privilege-banking/login.page?. Right below the numerous account options, you will find the list for password recovery. Pick your account type from this. For instance, if you have a personal or NRI account, click on the first option in the “Forgot Password” list.
Step 2: Click on the orange button that says “Click here to proceed”. You will be told to enter your user ID. Once you have keyed this in, click on “go”
Step 3: Enter your registered phone number or email ID and click on “go” again
Step 4: A temporary login code will be sent to your phone via sms or to your email account. Insert this in the authentication field and you will have access to your net banking account.
Step 5: Once logged in, simply change the password and reset it by typing it again.
