You may want to take advantage of all that the fidelity website has to offer, whether it be trading, investment advice, researching investment products or simply checking your account balance. However, in order to do so you’ll first need to sign in, which might be easier said than done. Fortunately, to help you we’ll go through the process of signing up, using your new fidelity login or resetting your password if you’re locked out of your account.
Creating An Account.
To access all of the tools and resources found on fidelity’s web page, you’ll need a fidelity login to get started. This tutorial assumes that you already have an account with fidelity, and that you simply want to gain online access to it. What does this mean? If you’ve already funded a trading or investment account with fidelity, but receive only paper statements, you can use the steps found here to create an online login to your existing account.
However, if you’re considering opening a brand new fidelity account for the first time, you can also do that online, but it involves transferring money and choosing the investments which are appropriate for your situation. That is beyond the scope of this article, so you’ll want to speak to a fidelity representative in this case.
If, however, you simply want to create a fidelity login for your per-existing investment account start by opening your favorite web browser. Input fidelity.com in the address bar and then hit enter, to be taken to fidelity’s landing page. You’ll see at the top near the middle of the page in white writing, a link to “log in.” Click this link, and you’ll be taken to the fidelity login page, over to the right side of the page is the title “New User?” Beneath this is a link to “Register Now” which you’ll click to be taken to the account registration page.
From here you’ll go through the process of verifying your per-existing investment account, by inputting your full name, last four digits of your social security number and your date of birth. You’ll also be asked to choose a username and password, and then to click on the account creation button. That’s all there is to it, you’ve now completed your fidelity login registration.
Accessing Your Account.
Now that your fidelity login is successfully created, you’ll want to use it to gain access to your account. Again, you’ll navigate to fidelity’s main page using your web browser and click the “log in” link at the top of the page in the middle. Once you reach the next page, instead of following the “Register Now” link, instead you’ll input your username and password in the appropriate boxes on the left side of the page. You can also click the “Remember Me” box, if you want your username to pop up automatically from now on. Once you’re finished inputting this information, click the “Log In” button directly below the boxes and you’ve successfully used your fidelity login for the first time.
If you’ve forgotten your password, then you’ll still go to the same page, by clicking the “Log In” link in the center of fidelity’s homepage. Once there, you’ll see a heading that says “Need Help Logging In?” under which is a link titled “Having trouble with your username or password?” Click this link, and you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be asked to verify your identity. Input the last four digits of your social security number, your full name and your date of birth.
Once the system has verified your identity, you’ll be sent a password reset to the email address which is associated with your fidelity login. Check that email, and follow the instructions contained within. Be sure to locate the password reset link and click it, to be taken back to the appropriate page on fidelity’s website. Now, you’ll be able to choose a replacement password, to begin using your fidelity login once again.
